Access to Identification for Stateless Youth – Kawangware

Overview

This program supports youth whose livelihoods depend on waste recovery by improving the organization, safety, and sustainability of a community dumpsite in Kawangware.

Problem

Many youth living around the dumpsite lacked national ID cards, making them unable to access formal employment, education, financial services, or government programs.

Solution

Bunny Hops advocated for and supported 48 youth to navigate the identification process by working with local authorities and guiding them through documentation and registration requirements.

Impact

  • 48 youth obtained national ID cards

  • Increased access to jobs, education, and financial services

  • Improved dignity, inclusion, and legal recognition

  • Expanded long-term livelihood opportunities

  •
