About Bunny Hops Youth Foundation

Bunny Hops Youth Foundation is a youth-led organization registered in Kenya in 2023, built on a simple but powerful belief: when young people are trusted with opportunity, they regenerate entire communities.

We were founded in response to the growing realities facing underserved youth; unemployment, environmental degradation, limited access to opportunity, and social exclusion. But rather than viewing these challenges as isolated problems, we recognized them as connected systems. Waste, joblessness, poor health, and exclusion are intertwined. The solutions must be too.

Our journey began in communities surrounding a dumpsite in Nairobi-Kawangware, where we worked with young people navigating unstable livelihoods and limited access to essential services. There, we saw something transformative: what others called “waste” could become work. What seemed like neglect could become innovation. What appeared as marginalization could become leadership. That experience shaped our model.

Today, Bunny Hops designs and operates safe, circular youth hubs where underserved young people turn waste into livelihoods, nature into healing, and skills into sustainable opportunity. We integrate green enterprise, regenerative agriculture, holistic wellbeing practices, and practical vocational training into one cohesive ecosystem. Our approach is not charity-driven, it is regenerative by design. Each hub is structured to generate income, build resilience, and strengthen community stability over time.

A defining feature of Bunny Hops is youth ownership. Young people lead governance, manage enterprises, design solutions, and shape strategy. They are not beneficiaries of programs; they are the architects of change. Experienced advisors and partners provide technical support, but operational leadership remains firmly in youth hands.

We collaborate with government institutions, private sector actors, academic partners, and community leaders to expand opportunity, strengthen accountability, and scale impact sustainably. Together, we are building models that move communities from extraction to regeneration, from dependency to dignity, and from instability to positive peace.

Bunny Hops Youth Foundation exists to prove that when youth are equipped, trusted, and supported, they do not just adapt to the future, they build it.

Leadership

Bunny Hops is youth-led and youth-governed, with young leaders (ages 18–35) driving strategy, operations, and enterprise management across our hubs. They are supported by experienced advisors who provide technical guidance and oversight. This structure ensures strong accountability while preserving youth ownership, innovation, and long-term leadership development.
