About Bunny Hops Youth Foundation
Bunny Hops Youth Foundation is a youth-led organization rooted in the belief that young people can transform communities when they are given the right environment to grow. We work at the intersection of youth wellbeing, environmental stewardship, creative expression, and economic empowerment, with a strong focus on underserved communities.
Our story is not one of waiting for ideal conditions. It is a story of showing up, learning from the ground, and building with what is available.
Our Story
Where we began
Our work began through direct engagement with communities where young people were facing exclusion, instability, and limited opportunity. In 2023, we facilitated youth to access soap and detergent making training at KIRDI, and one of the beneficiaries has since used that skill to start his own business, Scrub and Scent.
In 2024, we reached out to young people living on and around a dumpsite in Kawangware. Many of them were stateless, undocumented, and surviving in extremely unstable conditions. We mobilized them, worked with them to clean up the site, and successfully advocated for 45 of them to receive national IDs.
In 2025, we participated in a tree planting initiative in Kajiado County with partner organizations and planted 52 trees at a primary school. We also continued building relationships through women’s training sessions linked to that same community network.
In 2026, BHYF became part of the East Africa Sports Diplomacy and Play for Peace Youth Tournament at Zetech University. Through our MOU with the organizing organization, we contributed to a growing regional platform that connects youth, leadership, peace, and collaboration across countries.
